The Dam West Homeowners Association, incorporated in 1968, is a single family home community comprised of 327 single family homes. The neighborhood was developed by Writer Homes with acres of green open space.  Dam West was the first Planned Unit Development (PUD) community in the state of Colorado.

Amenities include a swimming pool facility, a clubhouse with kitchen and seating area, a children’s playground, and tennis court complex, and three commons areas (South Commons, Main Commons and East Commons) which are all linked together by walking paths.

The Dam West is much more than a group of homes and amenities, since the people who live there endeavor to create a true sense of community through their active participation in volunteer opportunities, neighborhood activities and feedback to their elected Board for the betterment of the place they call home.

 

The Community has an active contingent of committees, including the Social Committee, the Architectural Control Committee and has an award winning Swim Team.

 

The Social Committee is extremely dedicated and active.  Over the years, the Committee has shown a true commitment to fostering a strong sense of community and assisting neighbors in getting to know one another. Events range from an adults-only Holiday Party, Cookies with Santa, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Music in the Park and an amazing July 4th Celebration that starts before sunrise and ends after sunset. 
 
The Architectural Control Committee is a group of owners that take pride in their community.  They meet monthly at the clubhouse (and bi monthly from May-October) to allow for owners to bring any architectural application or questions to the committee.  They are active in the upkeep of the homes within the Association and strive to keep property values high. 

The Dam West Dolphins participates in the Mountain High Swim League and includes many junior swimmers from families within the neighborhood. The team practices at the community pool and is encouraged in meets and practices by all members of the association.
